DVS 62 foot Aluminium Cruising Catamaran - Design #067

This magnificent cat is our first real foray into the realm of cruising catamaran design and what a statement she has made. We worked closely with the owner’s to accommodate all of their requirements for ocean cruising into what you see here. We believe the end result finely balances the needs for speed under sail, seaworthiness, construction practicality, spacious accommodation all in a reasonably cost efficient package. The high quality aluminium structure of Elcie was build by Q-West Boatbuilders in Whanganui New Zealand and they did a perfect job. We also have recently developed a smaller sister the DVS 52ft Catamaran. We know that ketch rigs on catamarans are fairly uncommon, but from experience we are convinced that it's highly useful and practical as a safe and rigid cruiser setup with still good performance. Don't hesitate to contact us when you would be interested in this boat with a sloop rig.

Richard Johnson and Jessica Rice Johnson own and operate Elcie. Since 2010 they have sailed over 50,000NM including three Pacific crossings with many island stops along the way. For more information and lots of photos see: www.elcieexpeditions.com. They are recently started a new expedition which will be a full circumnavigation. Have look at their website and sign up for the newsletter to stay up to date if you are interested.
